Mediaserv : new TV service in the Reunion Island, French Antillas and Guyana
Mediaserv is the telecom operator offering telephony and Internet services in Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthelemy, in Martinique, in French Guyana and in the Reunion Island, to residential customers and professionals. Mediaserv offering includes broadband Internet, telephony and Television services, a network of interconnections of sites, web sites hosting, servers hosting and management of domain names and emails.
For the deployment of its next-generation IPTV, Mediaserv has chosen Netgem middleware and set-top boxes Netbox N5200.
Mediaserv subscribers will benefit from this next-generation TV in Q2 2012. It will use Netgem’s hybrid box to blend OTT VOD services and local DTT and it will also add Canal HD to its channel line-up for subscribers in the near future. They will enjoy a unique and enriched TV experience, with an easy-to-use Electronic Program Guide and a media center to access contents from different devices within the home.
Netgem’s nCloud architecture, based on its middleware and its smart set-top boxes, allows Mediaserv to give access to contents coming from its managed network or from unmanaged OTT networks, and thus gives a very flexible usage.
Jaleh Bradea, IPTV director of Mediaserv, said: “We were convinced by Netgem’s products and services as soon as we trialled them We were impressed that Netgem offers a complete solution from the outset and this is flexible enough to pre-integrate almost all the features an operator could have on its wish-list for the future. Thanks to this off-the-shelf solution, our customers in the French Antilles and La Réunion will soon be introduced to a next-generation TV environment that is both simple to use and future-proofed.”
